The 2021 Honda Civic Type-R has been launched for an MSRP of $37,495 for the base Touring trim and goes to $43,995 for the Limited Edition trim. Though the car witnesses a rise of close to $500 from the outgoing 2020 model, this performance hatchback remains unchanged, especially in the mechanical front, and retains the impressive 2L turbocharged motor punching out 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
The 2021 Civic Type R suspension setup allows for sending an awful lot of power through the front wheels, so Honda replicates that formula for the latest version. The stiffer suspension, lighter panels, huge Brembo brakes, and massive spoiler are some of the handling tweaks that give the new Civic Type R a real sense of confidence on tough roads.

The 2023 Honda Civic Type R hatchback will be all-new for this year, possibly going on sale in the fall. The new Civic Type R may be more powerful than the WRX STI, but 0-60 times will likely remain equal. The 2021 Subaru WRX STI sedan will likely be cheaper than the 2023 Civic Type R. Itâs a good time for the sports-car community.
